Right now we hit San Francisco, California to invest the day with Cardenio Petrucci, founder and art director of Dsegnare. The Italian born Petrucci studied at Sapienza University in Rome and then at the Massachusetts College of Arts in Boston prior to landing at an engineering firm in London. In 2000, he opened Petrucci Design and style Group to cover interior style and remodeling projects in San Francisco, Miami, and Washington D.C. and began importing goods for them. So, to merge his Italian background and really like of design, he opened Dzine in 2004, which became a single of the most productive showrooms in the United States. Just recently, he opened Dsegnare, a new idea design and showroom in San Francisco’s SOMA neighborhood that presents “a distinctive balance of art, music, style, flavors and cultures.” This Designer Dailies lets us see how he spends his days.
Right after dropping off the children at college, I get to the showroom exactly where I get my second coffee of the day.
The girls at the Elite coffee shop are experts at latte art, and personalize my cup every single morning (featured these days is a doodle my girlfriend made up of my signature ‘whatchu-talkin-bout’ face).
I then check in on the status of my employees’ perform and make confident almost everything is going smoothly. Right here, Claire is drawing up new plans for the showroom (stay tuned!).
In the afternoon, our ceramicist Bruno Kark dropped off the most current batch of “Pills” made by Claire and I, and we discussed the production of other pieces in the new DbyCP collection. Right here, we are seeking at ‘Now’ by Piero Lissoni, a gorgeous but specifically difficult piece to fabricate.
I then squeeze in a quick photoshoot for Western Interiors magazine
photographer tells me I’m a all-natural )
Thank you, Cardenio!
