The New Botanical Art

Yesterday, while antique hunting with my 96 year old grandmother, she leans more than to me and says “floral art is coming back, Ash, you know the moody type”. As if she was giving me the inside scoop like bonds on Wall Street or something. ha! She is the greatest grandmother I could have ever asked for. Seriously.

The funny thing is, earlier that morning, I was talking to 1 of my besties, Nicole, and she was saying the same factor. She just came out with her new series of moody floral photographs and I want every single a single of them. I could just think about this piece sitting beautifully on a huge white wall in a bedroom.

Naturally, I’ve been hunting for similar art now also. Deep green leaves in art are the new Martinique wallpaper. I would really like this photo blown up in my home.

It reminds me of the Aestate’s watercolor Beverly series.

I truly am into this greenery as art issue…especially the moody-ness of it. Grandma was genuinely onto anything…How about these jungle like leaves? Anything like this could be so chic in a powder space or pool property.

Now back to the florals. I am so fond of this print, tim robison roses…

…and last but definitely not least, even though browsing on pinterest I identified Thomas Darnell. This gorgeous man who paints peonies. oh, and Born in San Antonio, Tx. I’ve got to help my native Texans.
