Hola everyone! Welcome to week 2 of #projectmoderngrannychic & the One Area Challenge. [New to this? Here’;s week 1] Content to be back to the area and bring you all updates. Okay, so 1st factor is 1st. The navy turned out fabulously. It looks soooooo excellent. It’s tough to tell in these images, but trust me. It’s searching quite glam. We got the headboard in, its a gray nailhead trim queen sized headboard. I chose it simply because its a straightforward look which I like because if you ever move, it will go with anything.
Because the room is so small, I knew that I wanted to make positive to add a mirror above the bed. I was on the hunt for a convex mirror because I love the way they reflect a bigger version of the complete space. I was lucky sufficient to score 1 just like my inspiration board at Property Goods. It was about 50$ and excellent with a beautiful black and gold finish to it. It looked just excellent above the bed. How cute does my little niece appear assisting me measure wall space? I just enjoy her.
Anyway, so next to the bed, the initial issue we necessary was to get some lighting in there. I searched everywhere for simple gold sconces, but everything was either way over our budget or just not truly that excellent a fit for the space. So, we headed more than to Ikea and decided that this Arstid sconce would be perfect sprayed in a gold finish, and for $15 makes them a steal. I really like the curved shape of them, tends to make for the excellent above bed reading light.
Here they are just following we hung them. I Love the way they turned out. [we still have to paint the lengthy cords]
Right here is a greater shot of them soon after the cord painting…
Now on the opposite side of the bed, we placed the desk and we have the curtains already up. That was truly the first thing we did in the space. Drapes do so considerably for a space and Grandma loved the print on them and she saw them at Target, so we thought “whatever she wants, she gets”. Do you all keep in mind the lamp makeover that we did a while back following a Home Goods spree? Properly, that’s what’s on the desk proper now. These beautiful vintage lamps and their chic teal shades. I enjoy the wall/curtains/shades colour combo.
Here is what they look like on the desk. It’s tough to see the proper lighting on camera. The curtains match the navy wall perfectly & the teal shades. It’s challenging to see how perfectly the colors match but it appears so great in particular person. I enjoy the wealthy gold in there as well.
We are nonetheless on the hunt for the dresser, accessories, bedding, and side tables. We’ve got the recover the desk chair with some chic fabric, get some art on the walls, and so forth. In the meantime I discovered a few things whilst out thrifting…[the corbel and a bust]
That’s it for week 2 y’all. Don’t be concerned, there is so much far more to come! And more also, verify out my fellow challengers…
